Adobe Photoshop, or simply Photoshop, is a graphics editing program developed and published by Adobe Systems. It is the current and primary market leader for commercial bitmap and image manipulation, and is the flagship product of Adobe Systems. It has been described as “an industry standard for graphics professionals” and was one of the early “killer applications” on Macintosh.

Some of the new features include:

Enhanced masking feature
Layer Mask Density option allows you to fade away the effect of a layer mask gradually revealing the parts that are hidden.

Real-time filters with no color depth restrictions
New Adobe technology called Hydra allows filters to use graphics card power in image processing instead of the CPU. That means all operations will be much faster. Hydra filters support all color depths as well.

Enhanced 3D features
New and better 3D features are available including painting diffuse maps, bump and glossiness maps among others directly on 3d models.

Enhanced Quick Selection tool
The Refine Edge dialog now has a new feature to deals much better with complex surfaces such as fur ensuring a more defined line between subject and background.

Improved Dodge and Burn tools
Improved algorithm in these tools lets results look less destructive and more natural.

Polished interface
Photoshop interface brightness will be adjustable like in Adobe Bridge with buttons and dialog boxes look will be improved.

Extended and enhanced color profile management.
Multichannel, Device-Link and Abstract color profiles to be added.

Other Photoshop CS4 new features and improvements:
Integration of xRez technology for creating amazing panoramas.
integration of KnowHow and Kuler into Photoshop.
Rotatable canvas like in Corel Painter.
Anti-aliasing on zoom/rotate canvas.
Better HDR support.
Working with Tabs.
Faster load time.

Using pre-release software
This is pre-release software. The feature set and user interface are not complete and will evolve over the course of the pre-release program. Because there may be bugs, please consider carefully whether you want to run this pre-release
build in a production environment.
In any case, be sure to save your work frequently.

1. man its a mission installing cs4 cause you have to delete cs3 completely…and how do you do that? Now I have no adobe programs installed (cuz i delete them to install cs4) and I sstill can;t install it. help.

2. hmmm.. I didn’t have to uninstall cs3
   both cs3 and cs4 are installed on my MBP without problem
   ..but if u want to delete cs3, maybe u could try AppCleaner

3. I found an easy way to get a working serial, tried it myself and it works =).. found it on a forum

   “If you want your own special photoshop serial number that wont expire then go to you “Macintosh HD” then to “Users” -> “Shared” -> “Adobe” then “ISO-19770″ there should then be a text document called

   Photoshop CS4 Extended-Photoshop-CS4-Mac-PR-MUL.swtag

   edit this in text edit or any text editor and find near the botom of the document a serial

   EXAMPLE:
