Bootable Utilities Image
Many operations require you to “unmount” your hard drive or partition such as: Fixing, Optimizing, Defragmenting, Partitioning, Cloning and Data Recovery. There are many great tools to do these functions, but to use them you either need a second operating system installed or a bunch of bootable discs. To make your life easier I have compiled a bootable image which contains as many of these tools as possible. This image can be burnt to a DVD, shrunk down and burnt to a CD, cloned to a iPod/flash USB stick/hard drive/partition; the resulting product will then be bootable. Bootable Utilities Image(BUI) is entirely universal–meaning it will work with intel and PPC macintosh computers–it is also almost entirely Leopard compatible. Note that the image itself runs Tiger (10.4.9) but almost every tool will work with Leopard (10.5.x) and down.

thank you very much!!
will this work with ‘hackintosh’ computers?
Great! Thanks!
Thanks a lot for this. I have a question, How do I put together the 6 downloaded files? I have a program that does that but it only joins 2 files at a time. Is there a good join program for the mac? Once it is joined then what? Do I burn the file in a DVD as it is (.dmg)? or do I need to do anything else so that it becomes a bootable disk? Thanks.
you can use AJoiner(http://mac-free.com/download/AJoiner.html) or Split & Concat (http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Utilities/Split-Concat.shtml)
Thank you very much.
This is absolutely brilliant. I screwed up a couple of DVDs trying to burn the DMG file but once it was done it worked fine. The author says he couldn’t get TechTools to work but I had no problem on a PowerBook G4 1.6Ghz and was able to use TechTools to create a edrive with no difficulty.
This is a must have. Thanks for the effort. Absolutely briiliant seeing Apple makes it so hard to make a bootable disk with tools.
awesome share.
thanks for uploading and sharing with us.
i also downloaded Data Rescue 1.2 without using a rs premium account.
keep the good stuff up!
Doesn’t wok on a 2006 macbook running 10.5.5. LOTS of people have found suchlike.
